Thanks for the corrections. Re. the line

While Don Bosco was not traditionally a major force in schools cricket, the RA Podar college, which Shastri later joined for a degree course in Commerce, was a major supplier of Bombay's cricketing talent.

In the interview he says that joined Podar because he wanted to study commerce, and at a later point that he was in the last year at the junior college when he played first class cricket. He was just 17 then.

I guess this means that he took the commerce group for the 11th and 12th classes and did not actually do a B.Com. (In some states, you can do 11 and 12 in colleges. I guess Mumbai is/was one of them).

What do you think ?

Comments[edit]

Reads very well, only minor quirk I have is that you've switched between surnames (such as Tendulkar and Marshall) and full names, such as Gilbert Jessop. While cricket aficionados would probably immediately attach a first name to the surname, I think - for the benefit of everyone who reads the article - it would be suitable to use the same practice throughout, preferably full names. Oh, and the county bit needs expansion, but you know that. Otherwise, very well done! Sam Vimes 15:48, 26 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Complete Rewrite[edit]

This article is written like it is an autobiography. Subheadings like "always the bridesmaid", and "the indian summer", and "champion of champions" do NOT belong in an encyclopedia. People need to start revising this article, make it more nuetral and encyclopedic. For nuetrality, it should also contain information critical of Shastri, for example, the recent news that the BCCI pays him to be an advocate of the BCCI while working as a media commentator. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.203.91.236 (talk) 02:58, 27 October 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Personal life should mention Marriage and Daughter[edit]

Has that information been removed deliberately? 106.200.239.108 (talk) 18:11, 25 May 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

These are mentioned in the Post-retirement section. Kpddg (talk) 04:22, 26 May 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
